The Sudbury UNF Branch got into the Spirit of Vyshyvanka Day on May 21. Over 40 people took photos of friends and family in traditional Ukrainian Vyshyvanky. Sonia Peczniuk collected the photos, printed them and made a collage. She posted these at the UNF branch and Ukrainian Barvinok Retirement Residence in Sudbury for all to see, especially the seniors and people who do not have internet access. Everyone greatly enjoyed the collage and applauded her efforts. Among the photos is Sonia in her Ukrainian blouse along with embroidered pillows made by her 93 year old mother, a UNF member. Also featured in the photos is Mary Catherine who is in her late 80’s, wearing a blouse and vest that were embroidered by her mom. What a great way to get the community together during this time!
